Howes It Look Photography on facebook Utah Photography Blog

FAQ page:

Can the hours on the wedding day be split?

Yes they can! The hours can be split up between up to 3 different locations on your wedding day. Travel between locations does not count against your time.

How long before we receive our pictures?

It is dependent upon how many images are included, but normally individual, small families, and engagements are within a week. Weddings are a whole different animal and may take 2-3 weeks.

Do you charge travel fees?

If you are within Utah County, there are no fees, beyond that it's best to call me.

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, we do not. As much as I would like to say that every shot I take is perfect, it isn't. Sometimes the focus is a little off, people have this habbit of blinking so I don't always get the eyes open, and when I shoot groups, I take many of the same shot, to make sure I get at least one good one and there isn't much reason to have a whole bunch of the same picture. I don't know if you have seen that Beyonce picture from a concert a couple years ago that was very unflattering, yeah, we don't include those either. They are best left where no one will ever see them again!

Do you offer Videography services?

We do not, but I can get you in touch with someone that does. I don't know what it is, but I don't have the patience for video. I can spend an hour on one picture, but can't spend the time editing video. That's just me.

If we wanted to have more than one photographer, would you be able to do that?

Yes, I can help. I know quite a few photographers and it would be easy to bring in one or more photographers to get better coverage, but there is an additional fee.

How do I book you for my date?

Your date will be booked once a deposit is made and contract signed.

Why do we need to sign a contract?

The contract is there to protect us both. The contract will spell out what is promised from me and help keep us both safe.

What should we wear for a family shoot?

The best thing to do is keep it simple by avoiding logos, busy patterns, and other things that may be distracting from the family. It is also a good idea to coordinate with everyone else in the picture.

Do you edit all the pictures?

I do basic touch up on almost every picture, whether it is adjusting the lighting or cropping, but generally I do not do any more than basic, unless requested. There may be additional charges for additional retouching, but I can take care of whatever you need, from removing an ugly object in the background, to adding a second head on your shoulders.

Do you have backup equipment in case something happens?

I always have a backup camera and other lenses with me at all times, quite often I will have both camera's out and using them both. (Sometimes with my holster grips, so they are hanging on my belt and I can "draw" at any time).

What is the best time of day to take pictures?

The best time is the Golden Hour. That is 1-1 1/2 hours after sunrise and 1-1 1/2 hours before sunset. Some of my favorites are within 30 minutes of sunrise or sunset, either before or after, depending on the sunrise or sunset.
